Reuters was able to verify the location by road layout, utility poles, smashed car which matched verified corroborating visuals and Reuters aftermath footage. The date was verified by original file metadata, official reports and Reuters reporting from the scene.
Joshua, 36, sustained minor injuries in the crash in Nigeria, authorities confirmed.
Joshua was riding in the back of an SUV that collided with a truck on a busy express-way linking Ogun and Lagos at about 11 a.m. local time on Monday.
Joshua, who has family roots in Nigeria, reportedly was on holiday in Africa.
