Ever since getting the Eurorack systems, we were so hooked with the sound design capabilities, especially the core sound of various Eurorack modules. Even when comparing classic waveforms (Saw, Triangle and Pulse etc.), they do sound slightly different from module to module.
The concept of Pulse was born. Sample a huge selection of Eurorack modules, so you can access these wonderful flavours and use them in your own productions. This was something that our team was passionate to create.

Serum – a synthesizer that needs no introduction, has an amazing capability to import wavetables. So the job for us was to sample a huge selection of Eurorack modules and turn them into the wavetables. Sounds easy? Well, it’s not as straightforward as it looks.

There are numerous ways you could capture, circle and print these audio files. Then, multiple parameters to get right when converting them to tables. At first, it didn’t even sound close. However, after some trial and error, we couldn’t tell them apart. Is this coming from a Eurorack module, or is it Serum? It’s that ‘freaking’ close!

Wait, it gets even better. We captured the actual movement of the waveform. For example, a module by WMD called Spectrum has the ability to modulate the pulse width of its pulse wave. This behaviour is then replicated inside the wavetable, so you can modulate the PWM the same way, inside Serum.
