Part 2 McCalls 8449 Construction (in Watermelon Fabric)

Описание: This video shows the construction of McCalls 8449, a dress pattern that I modified into a tunic-style shirt. The fabric selection was based on one of the contest rules for #SewFruity25.

It is a good pattern to try if you want to gain experience applying a front placket. In addition to print instructions, McCalls provided a video link. A great tutorial can be found at McCalls on how to sew a placket and burrito the back yoke of the dress.

My experience following the pattern instructions as a sewist with average experience and little experience sewing plackets can be seen in this video. Based on my honest experience sewing this pattern, following the instructions which are very good, I modified view A to make a tunic length shirt.

As a plus size woman, I think this is a good style. I slightly adjusted the sleeves and body to loosen the fit of the garment.
