Sigiriya, also known as Ravana's Palace, is an ancient rock fortress located in the northern Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. The name refers to a site of historical and archaeological significance that is dominated by a massive column of rock nearly 200 meters high.
#RavanasPalace is one of the most sought after tourist places in Sri Lanka, especially for Indian tourists as they believe that Lion's Rock is somehow connected to Ramayana and Mahabharat and therefore, consider the Sigiriya rock as a divine shrine. The story goes back to the thousands of years when one of the mightiest and intellectual brahmin used to reside in this fortress which was made up of gold and was the secret places of King Ravana.
