Indya Moore, a star on the FX hit series, 'POSE,' spoke with sportscaster Mike Hill about the importance of the LGBTQ-centered show on the red carpet of the 2018 EBONY Power 100 gala last November.
"[POSE] brought people around the truth that we're people just like everyone else," the Bronx native said. "I think we've gotten so far down this dark hole that colonialism put us all in that says gender variant people don't exist."
Moore went on to explain how early tribes acknowledged and welcomed people outside of the gender binary, which she said became a narrative through colonialism.
Her one wish is that people stop trying to dictate how others live based on what is right in their own life.
