This is the sound of the Namib Desert – one of the oldest and driest places on Earth – receiving one of its infrequent rains. I was fortunate enough to be there and capture this 'chromatic rain' as it played the ancient, petrified forest like a xylophone.

Zero humidity: No decomposition means the wood is bone-dry and resonant.
