Eelgrass Lobster Hunt — Technique, Patience, and the Perfect Grab

Описание: Hunting lobsters in eelgrass is one of my favorite ways to dive without having to dig deep into a hole. Watching the eelgrass sway over the reef reveals the cracks and crevices where lobsters hide. The bright green grass creates a perfect contrast with the red lobsters, but getting them out without getting tangled takes technique.

You need a firm grip and to float directly up as the eelgrass releases. Miss it on the first strike, and the lobster disappears into the green abyss, almost impossible to track. It’s as much about timing and finesse as it is about spotting the lobster in the first place.

If you’re diving with a team and others are working a hole, it’s great to have a spotter to watch for lobsters that get away from other divers. Every grab feels like a small victory — and the satisfaction of pulling a lobster free from the eelgrass makes it worth every careful move.
