Chairperson of the Information Regulator, Advocate Pansy Tlakula, announces a directive to withhold the publication of the 2024 Matric results without consent from learners and their parents. The decision follows the absence of legal justification for the Department of Basic Education’s practice. A 2022 ruling by the Pretoria High Court previously overturned a similar ban on the publication of Matric results.
