"My Sweetie" is an early career Irving Berlin song that includes lyrics (not heard here). Berlin was born in Siberia and died 101 years later in NYC.
At 20, Joseph C. Smith was a dance band violinist. As leader he had a 9 year gig at NYC's Park Plaza Hotel. From 1916 to '22 Smith recorded over 130 sides for VICTOR. During that stretch his band charted nationally 21 times, with all but two singles peaking in the Top Ten.
