This video is about GREEN, one of the secondary colours. The two squares of green do not change throughout the whole video. They’re the same hue, tone, tint and shade of green.
The video starts with red as the background to the two green squares. Red is the complementary colour of green. Red makes green very vibrant. It makes green stand out and emphasised (and vice versa). This is how artists use complementary colours. They use complementary colours to create contrast and vibrancy.
Then the background is split in two. The colour on the left-hand side, behind the left green square, remains the same red throughout the whole video. The colour in the background on the right hand-side and behind the right green square slowly transitions into a different colour every few seconds.
Enlarge the video to full screen and use a projector if you have one. Switch off the lights. OBSERVE what happens to the two GREEN squares. Compare them.
