Описание: China has announced the discovery of the world’s largest gold deposit in Pingjiang County, Hunan Province, which contains approximately 1,000 metric tons of high-quality gold ore, valued at around $83 billion. This surpasses the previous largest reserve, South Africa's South Deep mine, which holds 900 metric tons. Geologists have identified 40 gold veins at depths of up to 2 km, with advanced 3D modeling suggesting even more reserves at depths of up to 3 km. The discovery, with gold concentrations of up to 138 grams per metric ton—far higher than the typical 8 grams—could significantly impact global gold production, as China already contributes 10% to it. The find has also led to a rise in global gold prices, further shaping the future of gold mining.
