Both actors (from the anime and Masters) work well for commander Saturn’s cunning, determined and perfectionist personality.
In the anime and Arceus Chronicles, Saturn is played by Marc Thompson. He may be overused especially in the TPCI era of the anime, but Thompson is fun to listen to as always. Especially in Arceus Chronicles, where we get to see more of his range. Sounding more passionate, fittingly hammy and even cool at times. Overall, Marc Thompson gives yet another solid performance.
In Generations, Saturn is played by an unconfirmed actor. I can’t really say their take was bad or good, as they didn’t have much to work off of, only that they say “Master Cyrus” a lot. Though I do like how it’s a more normal voice, it’s refreshing for sure, but ultimately they didn’t really have enough material to leave an impression. But their performance was serviceable, for what it’s worth.
In Masters, Saturn was played by Mike Haimoto. Of the three Galactic commander voices in Masters EX, Haimoto has the most fitting voice in my opinion. I like his well-spoken voice, similar to Thompson’s, and I think his more youthful voice is more fitting in fact. I don’t have major criticisms with Haimoto’s performance, he sounds pretty solid overall.
In terms of the definitive voice, you can’t really go wrong with Marc Thompson or Mike Haimoto, and it comes down to preference. Personally, I found Thompson to be a little more memorable, so I have to say Marc Thompson is the definitive Saturn voice.
