Seeing how modern-day India is the perfect host culture for this kind of logic-based education, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has coined this term to emphasize that the intellectual heritage of Tibet is actually, at its roots, nothing but the scholastic child of the Nalanda University, whose ruins now lie in Bihar, India.
