8mm Films shot by Fred Alvey in the mid-1960s showing a journey to Alfreton and a drive along the M1 motorway.
We see shots of a journey taken from a car between Little Eaton and Alfreton in Derbyshire. There are shots of Little Eaton, Lower Kilburn, Denby Pottery, Ripley High Street, Butterley Engineering Building in Ripley, Swanwick and Kings Street, High Street and Mansfield Road in Alfreton. Next we see shots of the driver getting out of the car in a residential street and wiping his face with a handkerchief.
Later we see shots of a journey taken from a car on the M1 motorway. There are shots as the car joins the motorway near Kegworth, Leicestershire, and sign posts for Loughborough and Ashby. Later we see shots of the car leaving the M1 in Northamptonshire and signposts for Stony Stratford and Old Stratford.
