It’s been a while, but here’s a new haul video. This time from my trip to Poland, where I picked up a mix of manga and comics in Polish editions. I talk about why I enjoy reading familiar works in another language and how different translations change the experience.
Highlights include Blood on the Tracks, No Longer Human (novel + Junji Ito and Usamaru Furuya adaptations), Lone Wolf and Cub vs. Samurai Executioner, Thorgal, Tekkonkinkreet, Dead Dead Demon’s Dededede Destruction, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Dorohedoro, and Eden: It’s an Endless World. There’s also Polish comics like Professor Andrews (based on Olga Tokarczuk’s story) and indie magazines showcasing local creators.
