The coordinated attacks yesterday did not signal an immediate attack by the U.S. We still are in a wait and see period.

As usual, there have been predictions from so-called experts that the attack would come today, while other “experts” says it may not come at all.

We did have these explosions take place yesterday that seemed to be a possible precursor for an immediate attack, but we also warned we did not know if this would signal the start of any armed conflict between the U.S. and Iran.

Unless something substantive happens today we will have no further comments until tomorrow.

During a meeting in Washington on Friday, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman reportedly warned US officials that backing away from a potential strike on Iran would “embolden” Tehran, according to Axios.

While his words were a “no-brainer” they did need to be said. Whether or not it be at this time that Iran’s military power in the Middle East will be neutralized we do know that it will happen at some time in the future.

The Strait of Hormuz, the narrow mouth of the Persian Gulf, again has become a focus of tensions as Iran prepares to launch a military drill that could include fire into a lane crucial for global shipping.

Iran has warned ships that it will conduct a live fire drill today, Sunday, and Monday in the strait, which sees a fifth of all oil traded pass through the tight corridor between the Islamic Republic and Oman.

The US military’s Central Command issued its own warning early Saturday, telling Tehran that any “unsafe and unprofessional behavior near US forces, regional partners or commercial vessels increases risks of collision, escalation and destabilization.”

Tensions remain high...These exercises are supposed to begin today. It will be interesting to see what comes about from them... Stay tuned...

Headline 4 Zelensky says Ukraine-Russia-US talks to be held in Abu Dhabi starting Wednesday (Times of Israel)

President Volodymyr Zelensky says that new two-day talks between US, Russian and Ukrainian envoys on halting the Ukraine war will start in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday.

“The dates for the next trilateral meetings have been set – February 4 and 5 in Abu Dhabi,” Zelensky says in a post on X. “Ukraine is ready for a substantive discussion, and we are interested in ensuring that the outcome brings us closer to a real and dignified end to the war.”

More talking...again, we know what will eventually happen with Russia, we just don’t know when...
