Daytime running lights make your car more visible to other drivers during the day. These lights automatically turn on when the engine is running. However, they are insufficient to light the road at night; thus, you shouldn't rely on them for visibility during the night. If you still want to turn them on at night, follow these steps.
1. Have your car’s ignition in the “on” position.
2. Switch off your headlights or have them in parking mode.
3. The system will detect the engine running and turn on your daytime running lights.
Some cars have a dial or switch you can use to turn on daytime running lights. For these models, turn off your headlights and switch on the DRLs. As mentioned, you shouldn't solely rely on daytime running lights when driving at night.
