The 2000 Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0 is the final, significantly upgraded version of the Diablo, featuring a more powerful 6.0-liter, 543-550 horsepower V12 engine, fixed headlights, a revised chassis and suspension, and an all-wheel-drive system. This mid-engine supercar was one of the last models before the Murcielago, offering improved reliability and luxurious cabin features while maintaining raw supercar performance. @LamborghiniSquadraCorse @Porsche @Ferrari @BMW @astonmartin @mclarenracing @MercedesBenz @Formula1 @audi @volkswagen_usa
Engine & Performance
Engine: A V12 engine, initially 5.7-liters, that evolved to a 6-liter engine for later models, incorporating electronic fuel injection.
Power: The original Diablo offered 492 hp (485 hp in the US), with subsequent models significantly increasing this to over 575 hp.
Drivetrain: The initial Diablo was rear-wheel-drive. The VT (Viscous Traction) models introduced an all-wheel-drive system with a viscous center differential capable of sending up to 25-28% of the torque to the front wheels, improving control.
Transmission: A 5-speed manual transmission with a ZF final drive and a limited-slip differential.
Body & Chassis
Construction: Early models featured a mid-mounted engine and a rear-wheel-drive layout, with a spaceframe chassis and later models incorporating an all-wheel-drive system.
Aerodynamics: The design was noted for its aggressive, wide stance and featured a rear mesh grille for engine cooling.
Doors: It showcased exotic scissor doors, a design element shared with the Diablo's predecessor, the Countach.
Design & Interior
Exotic Styling: The Diablo was recognized for its stunning and exaggerated supercar design.
Interior: The cabin was criticized by some for being cramped, with a horizontal center stack and a wide center console that doubled as an armrest.
Key Features
Scissor Doors: A signature design element of the Diablo.
Advanced Drivetrain: The later VT models featured an all-wheel-drive system that improved stability and handling.
Acoustics: Known for its incredibly loud and distinctive sound.
