The energy was unmatched as the legendary Cold Steel drumline from North Carolina A&T took center stage at the HBCU Festival held at The Mann Center in Philadelphia! Drummers from West Philly High School's Marching Orange & Blue Band, Dobbins High School's Mighty Mustang Band, Mad Beatz Philly's Honors Program @ Norris Square, and the Mann Center's Motion & Music Academies at Global Leadership Academy West and Lewis Cassidy Academics Plus came together for an unforgettable clinic led by one of the top HBCU drumlines in the country and their iconic director, Mr Harvey Thompson!

Cold Steel shared their world-class techniques, breaking down their signature warmup and iconic cadences "01" and "20". Participants also tackled an intense exercise called "Burnout" — pushing them to give their all, then lock in at attention with total control. The lesson? Discipline, endurance, and always finishing strong.

The clinic wasn’t just about chops — it was about mentorship and INSPIRATION! Cold Steel inspired Philly’s next generation of drummers with real talk, encouragement, and advice for the future. 💙💛 Don’t miss this powerful moment of rhythm, unity, and HBCU excellence!
