Tuskestan Road and Forest is one of the most beautiful nature destinations in northeastern Iran (Golestan Province).

Location: In the northeastern slopes of the Alborz Mountains, about 13-18 km southeast of Gorgan. It's an asphalt road connecting Gorgan to Shahroud (Semnan) (total length around 130 km, with the main forested section about 30-90 km).

Tuskestan Forest: Part of the ancient Hyrcanian Forests (UNESCO site), covered with trees like alder (tuska), oak, hornbeam, and juniper. High biodiversity, with stunning sea of clouds and mist in the heights – one of Iran's most dreamy landscapes!

Attractions:
Winding forested road (especially colorful in autumn)
Tuskestan Waterfall (about 26 km from Gorgan, near the road)
Tuskestan village
Springs, Garmabdast plain, historic Qizilq caravanserai

Best Seasons: Autumn (vibrant colors), spring and summer (cool and green). Winter is snowy and beautiful but risky (snow chains required).
