A few of us went to a hospital to visit a patient. When we arrived at the reception, a person was sitting there and the nameplate said, “Doctor Asad Attari”. During the meeting, I asked him, “Are you a disciple of Maulana Ilyas Qadiri?” He became really enthusiastic and said, “الحمد للہ, I am a disciple of Maulana Ilyas Qadiri and how I became one is also a beautiful story.” I got curious so I asked him to tell me. He showed me his register and said, “This is my register in which I keep my entries.


I had a habit that I would request autographs from visiting personalities whether they were religious or political. Once, Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat visited our hospital. I was really eager to meet him. So, I rushed to see him as he was being affectionate towards everyone and meeting them. I also approached him and met him. During the meeting, I picked up my register as usual and said to him, ‘Sir, please give me some advice and your autograph.’ Maulana Ilyas Qadri, who is my spiritual guide, took that register, closed it and put it on my table.


He then took out a notepad from his pocket, wrote some words of advice on it, signed it, handed it to me and said, ‘Doctor, this register is the property of the hospital and you cannot use it for your personal needs. You will have to repent.’ As soon as I heard this, I was shocked that I had taken autographs from so many people.


Everyone had happily signed it, but no one advised me with regards to the rights of people like this. I was already inspired before, but after hearing this, I instantly asked him to make me his disciple.” So, this is the personality of our beloved Ameer-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat Maulana Ilyas Qadiri.
