5 Proven Bluewater Monohulls Nobody's Buying (Prices Dropped)

Описание: Five classic bluewater sailboats — the Westsail 32, Valiant 40, Cape Dory 36, Pacific Seacraft 34, and Hallberg-Rassy 34 — are cheaper today than at any point in recent memory. The used boat market has collapsed into a buyer's market: 209-day average time on market, 7.26% median discounts, and 30% of listed boats that won't sell at any price. While everyone watches the catamaran glut, these ocean-proven old guard boats are sliding lower every month.

This video covers why old fiberglass construction outlasts modern production hulls — and which five boats to buy before the window closes.

These five bluewater sailboats have ocean crossing pedigrees, solid glass construction, and prices that reflect a market correction — not a quality problem. The Valiant 40 won the OSTAR twice in the same boat. The Pacific Seacraft 34 made Fortune magazine's list of America's 100 best products — twice. The Westsail 32 launched the entire American bluewater cruising movement of the 1970s from a Time Magazine cover feature.
Used sailboat prices are down 13.79% by unit volume in 2025. The median brokerage sailboat is sitting on the market for 172 days before selling. If you have been watching the market waiting for the right moment to buy an offshore-capable boat, the data says that moment is now.
