5-minute video showing loop hike from parking area on Onion River Road up SHT to spur trail to loop around top of Oberg Mountain on north shore of Lake Superior, near Lutsen, Minnesota. October 2, 2025. Good fall colors!

2.3 mile total hike.
~460 ft elevation gain/loss total.
0.5 mile: Distance to start of loop trail at top of Oberg Mtn.
1.3 mile: Distance of loop around top of mountain.
Maximum elevation: ~1550 ft above sea level
Elevation of parking area: ~1225 ft above sea level
Notes:
Great in fall at peak of fall colors, but very busy.
Easy hike.
Parking area holds ~200 cars and may be full.
Many people on trail; some may be quite noisy.
