Adapted from a webinar recorded June 27, 2018, this Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority educational video offers healthcare organizations ways to reach their quality and safety goals by learning to engage their patient population effectively as a strategic resource in meeting the priorities of their organization. Following this presentation, participants will:
• Be introduced to the National Academy of Medicine’s Guiding Framework for Person Family Engaged Care and learn how to apply it in their healthcare setting.
• Understand that their patients and family caregivers can become a resource to their safety efforts.
• Learn to orient patients and families to the advisor role for sustained impact on improvement teams.
