Kiddie Prep School - Added Benefits!

Описание: Kiddie Prep School has launched a new pilot program in partnership with Possibilities Northeast, a leading pediatric therapy provider in Allen County. This collaboration allows children with developmental delays to receive therapy sessions during their preschool day—removing common barriers for families and enhancing classroom learning for all.

Kiddie Prep School enrolls children year-round and currently has openings available for all ages 2-12 years. Any parent or caregiver interested in finding out more about Kiddie Prep or the collaboration with Possibilities Northeast should contact McCloskey at [email protected] or 260-485-7951. If a child is already receiving services, they can receive their services at Kiddie Prep in most cases. If parents are interested in getting started with services after the child is enrolled, Possibilities Northeast will do an informal assessment in the classroom to let parents know if they think their child would qualify. From there, Possibilities Northeast will do a formal evaluation which is in most cases covered by insurance. If the student qualifies for services, those services can be run through insurance in some cases at no/low cost to parents.

Taylor Heckley/2.5-3 Year Old Teacher: I love when a therapist comes in and the kids faces just light up like they're so excited for them to be there.

Kimberly Brosman/Assistant Director: The possibilities Northeast coming here it helps the parents out a lot I think it's a benefit for them because they don't have to take off work to be able to take their kids to get therapy that is much needed so some kids do speech with them some do OT we have a couple kids that do feeding therapy with them as well.

Emily Dills/Parent & Kiddie Prep Teacher: So my oldest son before I started working here was in speech therapy and then when I got the job here I was like oh it'd be perfect to have him be able to go somewhere within the same building because we were going to a different place where I'd have to leave work to then go take him to speech then go back and sometimes I was wondering like what was he actually learning

Madi McCloskey/Director: So typically we go off of like a milestone chart looking at some red flags when a child's not interacting well with their peers at a developmentally appropriate level. Every now and then we have littles. Our one-year-olds very rarely we see red flags in there but as the child gets older they start to separate from the rest of the group developmentally.

Taylor Heckley/2.5-3 Year Old Teacher: I'm able to see the child from a whole other perspective that we don't always get from just having classroom time because they're want they can be one-on-one with them it's it's easy for them to see the things that like I can integrate the classroom oh they're really over simulated like with the loud sound so let's get them some headphones or they're really they really need big body movement let's swing them upside down like those kinds of things that like are really helpful because they're able to try do the trial and error.

Kimberly Brosman/Assistant Director: Our goal is to work with the parents so it's admin staff teachers and parents working together for the best interest of the kids to make sure that they can be the best person and more successful in life.

Taylor Heckley/2.5-3 Year Old Teacher: Watching kids grow is one of my favorite things and being able to use this tool and resource has just been a game-changer in the classroom.
