Smoothing a Hand Carved Trough with a Japanese Spear Plane

Описание: Currently working on a trough or gutter to catch the juice as it flows of the floors of my medieval cider press. Still working on it but it has to be done by the weekend. This is just a sneak peak of the progress so far.

This is the ONLY single edged Japanese spear plane I've ever seen. I think the handle I've made for it is working well and I think I've got the basics of using it sorted. Need more practice though.

I produce videos on a bunch of topics from bees to prospecting and a stack of stuff in between but many of them show off the use of traditional vintage tools. If you see a tool that you would like for your own I probably won't sell you mine but I may have another in stock or I can get one from France, Germany, Japan or wherever. I make little bit of money from selling tools but mostly I just like to share them and share how to use them.
