Steps involved in loose and expressionistic watercolor painting: Creating a loose flower painting using a brush sketch style involves using fun and expressive techniques. When painting casually, less is often more. Avoid overworking your piece.
Know When to Stop: Once you’ve captured the essence of the flowers, leave the painting as is and embrace any imperfections. This approach is about freedom and expression of beautiful, effortless-looking paintings of flowers with minimal fuss.
Loosen Up: Try painting flowers like a child would—do not worry too much about the outcome. Let your hand move freely; focus on capturing the spirit of the flowers rather than their exact shape.
Use Plenty of Water: Water is crucial for maintaining loose brushwork in your paintings. Use an ample amount of water in your initial washes.
