Carved out of the relative wilderness of the Westlake Peninsula and founded in 1951 and 1976, respectively, these two adjacent properties have seen a lot of change over the years.
Come take a journey with Charlton Perry, Director of Outdoor Education at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School, and Paul Vickery, Environmental Education Coordinator for Wild Basin Creative Research Center.
Learn about the past, present, and future of these two organizations and the lands they help manage. A gun range, wildfire, city dump, and an endangered songbird are just some of the stories to be told.
See the slides for Charlton Perry's presentation: https://tinyurl.com/mryrbkfx, and Paul Vickery's presentation: https://tinyurl.com/4x27mx3t.
On the second Monday of each month at Westbank Library, join fellow history buffs in learning about, sharing, and celebrating the heritage of Eanes and the greater Austin area. Light refreshments served. All are welcome.
