It was the week before Christmas
And all through the house
No broadband was stirring
Quiet as a mouse

We changed our provider to Virgin Media
Their adverts assured us their service was speedier
But reality is loss of service, you see
Their fault display bright, just like our Christmas tree

On Christmas Eve out came a new engineer
He replaced the router and said with no fear
It will all work OK now, just wait and see
And headed off home for his Christmas Eve tea

The faults they continued, got worse and worse
A little like my poor attempt at this verse
A fix was suggested, a short term test
While Virgin decided, what to do next.

Virgin promised to call to see how things went
But they broke this promise and so this then meant
I had to keep calling again and again
And still no solution, complain pain, no gain

The next engineer said his colleagues were wrong
He was rude about them in language quite strong
After an hour, said he'd found the answer
Turned out he hadn't, what a disaster.

We rang and we called, I tweeted and bleated
For this loss of service should not be repeated
Another call yesterday no further forward
No resolution so this all feels quite tortured

Five weeks down the line broadband still busted
It appears Virgin Media just cannot be trusted
We're paying your bill, please serve in return
And fix this fiasco, for that I just yearn.
