Sight fishing is the best kind of fishing you can do. Especially when the water is crystal clear and you can see everything! Whether its largemouth bass, peacock bass, smallmouth, snook, tarpon, redfish, the list goes on... When you can sight fish any species and watch them eat your lure, its a good day. I came out today to prepare for some upcoming peacock bass fishing charters I have booked. As a fishing guide, I have to stay on top of where the best bite is no matter the conditions. This video was filmed in January, and Florida has been experiencing the longest winter we've had in a long time. Fortunately the temperatures haven't dropped super low. However, it's been cold enough to affect the bite in a lot of areas. Water temps have gotten down into the low 70's, even high 60's and in the everglades, where I'd prefer to host my fishing charters, the peacock bass have not been biting at all. Even with live bait! I know of a residential system that is fed by the underground aquifer, and the ground water typically stays at 74 degrees year round, so I knew the fish should be around and fairly comfortable.
