US-Iran war cripples Pakistan, 2 hour electricity suspension announced to counter rising costs

Описание: As the US-Iran War continues to shatter the global demand & supply chain, its latest ripple effects hit Pakistan. Pakistan who has been at the forefront of mediation b/w two nations is suffering majorly in its own backyard. According to a Bloomberg Report, Pakistan will suspend electricity supply for about two hours in the evening to manage rising power costs. US News Agency Bloomberg cited a govt order announcing suspension of electricity in order to counter rising Energy costs. Energy costs have surged as regional instability linked to the Iran war disrupts fuel flows and tightens supply chains. Pakistan’s crisis is deepening beyond electricity, with soaring petrol prices and major sectors shifting to work-from-home models. Currently Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir is on an official visit to engage in intensive diplomatic efforts. The visit marks another attempt to achieve a complete halt to hostilities in West Asia after a 6 weeks long war. Pakistan’s push for a ceasefire is driven by its failed mediation efforts and rising domestic economic pressures.
