The Shanghai Tourism Festival's grand parade launch event, comprised of three chapters: "Embracing All Rivers," "Beautiful Home," and "Sharing the Same Circle," showcased Shanghai's vibrant and inclusive character, the charm of China's flourishing times, and its determination to collaborate and share with the world. Twenty-five floats and 24 performance groups from home and abroad graced Zhongshan East First Road, illuminating Shanghai with enthusiasm and creating a globally iconic festival scene of "Diverse Cultures, Citywide Joy" along the Huangpu River. The event showcased Shanghai's openness, inclusiveness, and cultural appeal as the premier destination for inbound tourism from China. This year's Shanghai Tourism Festival also held sub-venues in five major cities: Ningbo, Zhejiang; Yancheng, Jiangsu; Mianyang, Sichuan; Kashgar, Xinjiang; and Shigatse, Tibet. This enriched the festival's content and showcased the festival's "beauty and joy" from multiple perspectives.

The song "Dream of Light" kicked off the grand parade. Following this, dazzling floats and passionate performances by processions took to the stage, creating an unparalleled spectacle and creating a festive celebration characterized by shared beauty, universal participation, and integrated collaboration. Floats from Shanghai's Baoshan, Lingang, and Zhujiajiao districts showcased the "One District, One Product" cultural tourism brand; floats from Ningbo, Mianyang, and Shigatse allowed residents and tourists to immerse themselves in the customs of other regions without leaving Shanghai; floats from Taipei City showcased the local culture and people of Taiwan, allowing visitors to discover a Taipei they had never seen before; and floats from Kagawa Prefecture, Japan, traveled from afar as ambassadors of cultural exchange. "Classmate Zhou's 'Summer Travels'" showcased the theme of joy, showcasing the image of Classmate Zhou, carousels, Ferris wheels, and other fun installations. The event also collaborated with the Shanghai Museum's Classmate Zhou trendy art event, specifically reaching young audiences through image launches and themed interactions. Themed floats from China Eastern Airlines, Douyin's "Lohas Shanghai," and Lao Fengxiang all told Shanghai's story of interconnected openness, win-win cooperation, global benefits, and shared success. These floats were not only magnificent in design but also integrated elements of technology, culture, and intangible cultural heritage, strengthening the organic integration of cultural, tourism, commerce, and exhibition resources. With their rich and engaging content, they invited tourists from home and abroad to "travel Shanghai with the floats."

In addition, 24 performance groups from home and abroad interacted with the floats, showcasing a vibrant display of mutual learning and friendly integration among civilizations through large-scale wind instruments, bagpipes, folk dances, cheerleading, and rhythmic gymnastics.

The parade concluded with the joyous performance of the Tourism Festival's theme song, "A Common Festival." Shanghai singers Han Peng and Zhao Lili, along with city recommenders, representatives of Shanghai's premium online content bloggers, and the East China Normal University Choir, delivered a performance that conveyed the core concept of the Shanghai Tourism Festival: "A Festival for the People."
