Описание: Violent Student Protests Break Out in Liège, Belgium | Over 100 Arrested Over Education Reforms

A series of intense student demonstrations erupted in the eastern Belgian city of Liège over proposed education reform plans and rising tuition costs introduced by French-speaking educational authorities. Local security officials were put on high alert after protests escalated into incidents of arson and property damage, resulting in the arrest of at least 107 people. In response to the unrest, Belgium's official government emergency alert system, BE-Alert, advised local business owners to shut down early, while the city's central railway station was temporarily closed, causing widespread disruptions to public transport and traffic flow. Police urged citizens to avoid the city center as law enforcement units set up checkpoints to screen participants, inspect for weapons, and prevent further violence while investigations into the cause of the riots continue.
