Did you know that fog formation is an excellent visual representation of saturated air?
I'm always looking for an opportunity to talk psychrometrics, and this morning, I found one.
I'm a total nerd, for sure.
We get fog when the dry bulb, wet bulb, and dewpoint intersect.
This is exactly what happens when air leaves a properly working cooling coil!
Once the air reaches its dew point temperature (at which it becomes saturated), water vapor condenses out.
We see this behind me and in a drain pan of an air handler.
Psychrometrics is a fundamental science of HVAC engineering and design, and as HVAC professionals, it is crucial to understand psychrometrics for several important reasons:
Efficient System Design, Comfort and Indoor Air Quality, /HVAC System Efficiency, HVAC Equipment Selection, Load Calculation, Troubleshooting and Maintenance, and Sustainable Design.
