Originally from Assam, India, Ron’s musical identity is a sophisticated bridge between 15 years of rigorous Western Classical training and the fluid worlds of Jazz, R&B, and Gospel.

A trailblazer in the industry, Ron was the first recipient of the A.R. Rahman 100% Full Scholarship to Berklee College of Music. His artistry is defined by high-level collaboration, having performed and recorded alongside acclaimed artists such as Laufey, Lizzy McAlpine, Lionel Loueke, and Ferenc Németh.

Beyond his virtuosity as a performer, Ron is a visionary educator and composer. At just 23, he joined the faculty at the Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, and today, he is a sought-after film composer in the Netherlands, scoring major titles like Fijn Weekend and The Dadchelor. From pioneering the fusion of Assamese folk and jazz in his landmark album Maati to gracing stages at SXSW and the Sunset/Sunside in Paris, Ron Cha continues to redefine the boundaries of the contemporary piano.
