Hvítárfoss and Núpsárfoss are two "twin" waterfalls in the South of Iceland. They originate from different rivers, but fall into the same pool of water. And since one originates from a glacier and the other from a freshwater spring, they have different colors. Núpsárfoss is creamy-whitish, as it originates from a glacier. Hvítárfoss waters, on the other hand, are a clear, deep blue. The effect of the water mixing in the same pool is rather unique.

Getting to the trailhead requires a long and difficult drive on a challenging track, suitable for large 4x4 vehicles only. Then, a one-hour hike that ends with a climb up a 5-6 meter rock face.
