SHOW EXPLANATION
(Nange Magro) :
This Dead Lotus Couture show aims to symbolize a ghostly status of today's western culture where emphasis is placed on egotism. Where in eastern cultures we often see the opposite. The individual becomes a ghostly avatar. A depressed and dissatisfied mirrored image of what the real individual is.
These 5 outfits are inspired by 5 ghosts from Japanese folklore legends (mostly in Edo period) Dead Lotus Couture hopes to take you to a melancholy but elegant and dramatic world.
The show begins calmly to find a dramatic and violent ending. Angelica wears a dress that transforms at the end of the show (from a simple contained white latex outfit to a draped and theatrical red fabric dress). Representing the anger build up also characteristic of folklore ghost stories, and final rebellion to this system of life.
