Barge Master recently completed a project for Equinor, demonstrating the capabilities of their motion compensation platform, the BM-T700. The platform served as a reliable feeder base for the lift of a coiled tubing REEL, ensuring safety and stability throughout the operation.
Equinor faced a challenge during the maintenance of their Gulfaks C platform when they needed to lift a coiled tubing REEL from Schlumberger. However, the platform crane's capacity was insufficient for the 40-ton REEL. To address this, Barge Master's motion-compensated platform was employed, effectively reducing the Dynamic Amplification Factor (DAF) of the crane and enabling a successful lift within the crane's limitations.
