This is part of the Okitama Sakura Corridor.

he Okitama Sakura Corridor is a 43-kilometer cherry blossom sightseeing route that runs alongside the Flower Nagai railway line, stretching from the Akayu Hot Springs to the Arato district of the town of Shirataka.

The Corridor was organized and established by the Okitama Sakura Association, which was formed to preserve and protect the flowering cherry trees. The corridor features some twenty famous locations for viewing cherry blossoms, including sites selected for inclusion in a list of the top one hundred spots for viewing cherry blossom in Japan.

Among the classic flowering cherry trees are huge trees and ancient trees some of which are more than 1200 years old. Some of the trees have been designated as ‘Natural Monuments’ by the national or prefectural governments. Please enjoy taking a good look around the Corridor.

How to go there:
You can take shinkansen from Tokyo station to Akayu station. Then a 30 minute walk to the park from Akayu station.
