Here is a simplified graphic to explain what 'trigger stacking' is and how stress hormones can create a cluster effect of reactivity. A 'threshold' is the point at which the dog reacts or switches from operant thinking mode to a non-thinking survival mode (fight, flight or freeze). Trigger stacking is when too many stimuli that the dog is sensitive to occur in a short period of time. A reactive dog is a dog that is sensitive (usually fearful) of other dogs, people, objects, environment. In the video, each of these are called an event.
