I have been playing Battle Cats on Bluestacks so not exactly sure how well it works on actual phone, but I don't think there should be any issues.
To perform this glitch you need to be quite fast. Open the firewall app as soon as the SKIP intro button shows up. If you are too slow, the game will try connecting to the internet and block you from recovering energy etc. You need to do every step (starting from when game intro shows up) shown in the video probably in under a minute.
You can also use this to track events that are on currently around the world. (24h range because of the Earth's timezones) Simply do the same thing, but change the timezone so it matches the event you want to be in. Unfortunetly it can block your energy quite often. Especially on the 1st try after changing timezone, but just try again and it should work. If going back 2 days dosen't work for you, try going back 1 day.
