Описание: 44 years back, it was on this day on August 11,1979, when the Morbi city in Gujarat faced one of the deadliest disasters the world had ever seen. Killing about 25,000 people, including minors and animals, the city of Morbi within seconds turned into a land of corpses. Indira Gandhi putting the handkerchief on her nose to avoid the stench of decaying bodies received a lot of flak then. Whether it was the October 30th incident of 2022 when a 137 year old british era suspension bridge collapsed in the Machchhu river in Morbi or August 11th incident of 1979, which is recorded as the ‘worst dam burst’ in the Guinness book of world records. The members of RSS and Jan Sangh helped in getting the area cleaned of the corpses.Morbi based RSS leader Dr. Jayanti Bhadesia while recalling the incident to Doordarshan started how Narendra Modi, who was a RSS swayamsevak that time helped in the post-flood relief operations.
