Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary M. V. Govindan said that the incident of scissors being left inside a patient’s abdomen was an isolated one. Lakhs of surgeries are conducted in Kerala, he noted. He added that there is an attempt to exaggerate an isolated incident and clarified that the government does not support what the doctor had stated.
