MMK demonstrates Automation of Grinding Processes

Описание: This video demonstrates the optional functions of the Smart Terrace AIO automatic tool changer robot system for machine tools: automatic dog exchange and multi-point shaft work measurement.
It features collaboration with JTEKT Corporation's CNC cylindrical grinding machine “G1P25”.
We demonstrated this system live at our booth during the 61st Machine Industry Exhibition “MEX Kanazawa 2025,” held from Thursday, May 15 to Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Halls 1, 3, and 4 of the Ishikawa Prefectural Industrial Exhibition Center.

■Automatic dog exchange device for cylindrical grinders
Cylindrical grinders have lagged behind in automation among machine tools. The main obstacles have been the demand for high-precision machining in the μm range, for which measurement has been a major bottleneck, and the lack of an automatic dog attachment device. Various methods have been proposed to solve this problem. Matsumoto Machine proposes a measuring hand that can measure multiple points and an automatic dog attachment device.
Here is a proposal for an automatic attachment device for dog. By changing the attachment, workpieces from Φ10 to Φ50 mm can be set up and changed up to 8 times during the night, unattended.
