I wanted to kitbash a 5 man rubric squad to represent the Tomb Kings faction of Warhammer Fantasy. Not just that, I wanted to make them a melee squad with kopesh and shield.

The paint scheme is a reference to the tomb kings as well. I wanted to see if I could make the regular Rubrics look like skeletons lead by an alive sorcerer. The sorcerer is gaudy and over the top. Everything blings and shines and is looks like it's ridiculously expensive.

The magic effects are purple, because that's the colour of death magic in Warhammer Fantasy. The sword he's holding and the spell he's casting, even the flaming skull on his base are all affected by the same sorcery.

The frost effects aren't great and I need more experience with it, but that will come soon enough with the rest of my Thousand Sons project.
