Streets of Rage Remake - SoRMaker Mods - The Combatribes playthrough

I have not played any SoRMaker mod for a long time. This time I am playing Serrr's The Combatribes mod for SoRRv5. It's a pretty good SoRMaker mod with the various sprite mods.
One problem is, that despite of having SoRRv5 re-downloaded I still have the option set to default while playing this mode despite of having the options set.
