The village of Poloca, east of the town of Zadar and north of Sibinek was liberated by Croatian forces Saturday 5th August.
Following quickly behind their soldiers, the Croat people who were expelled from Krajina by rebel Serbs in 1991 make their way back to their home villages.
This is the reason for the whole of this operation: to retake land which the Croat people feel deep ties to.
These women are celebrating a triumphal return to Polaca, the small town which was their home up until four years ago. Now, when the party is over, they'll look for their homes and set about rebuilding their lives.
