Getting an authentic Lithuanian experience in Vilnius 🇱🇹

In this vlog, I explore:

🧱 Vilnius Defensive Wall (Bastion) – my first stop of the day! I climb the historic fortification that once protected the city and take in views across the rooftops of Vilnius.

🎨 Užupis – the “independent republic” inside Vilnius with its own president, constitution, currency, and a wildly creative vibe. Yes, they even have their own army (with 12 people).

📚 Vilnius University – one of the oldest universities in Eastern Europe. I wander its quiet grounds and learn how students here spend their Saturdays... or don’t.

⛪ St. Anne’s Church – one of the most iconic Gothic churches in Lithuania, so stunning that Napoleon himself supposedly wanted to bring it back to Paris. It's built with 33 kinds of bricks and still takes your breath away today.

✝️ Three Crosses Monument – after a tough climb, I’m rewarded with one of the best panoramic views of the city (and some sore feet too).

🏰 Gediminas Castle Tower – the legendary birthplace of Vilnius. I retell the Iron Wolf dream that started it all, and climb to the top of the city to see the breathtaking views of Vilnius below.

🏛️ Cathedral Square – the historic heart of Vilnius where I discover grand statues, local symbols, and take in the views from one of the city's most important public spaces.

🐷 Lucky Belly – a quirky bronze belly sculpture that locals rub for good fortune. I couldn’t leave Vilnius without giving it a go (even if I said I didn’t need the luck 😉).

🎸 Frank Zappa Statue – the only one in the world dedicated to the eccentric American musician. I’ll tell you why Lithuanians built this before honoring their own national heroes.

🚌 Public transport in Vilnius – I get on a bus, nobody pays, and a local tells me how things actually work.

🍲 Authentic Lithuanian Meal – I eat at the exact same kebab shop featured in Bald and Bankrupt’s famous “drunk with a gangster” video. Spoiler: the soup was not what I expected.

🇱🇹 Along the way: I learn about the Iron Wolf legend, find Soviet architecture, spot a Ferrari in Užupis, visit local markets, eat homemade food in the park, and get my mind blown by how peaceful and underrated Vilnius truly is.
