The Western Cape has just experienced one of the heaviest snowfalls in decades — some say the biggest in 30 to 40 years.
What looked magical from a distance quickly turned into something far more serious.
Cars without proper tyres. Families stuck in freezing temperatures. Mountain roads turning into ice rinks.
We headed into the snow to witness it for ourselves… and what we saw was both breathtaking and concerning.
This is just a glimpse of what happened.

Some of those moments were genuinely scary.
