The TEBCO Pioneer is a delta-style eTrike that is great value for money (AUD$3499 at time of review). With simple components, it is easy to maintain anywhere in Australia. Delta-style trikes get a bad rap for being a bit unstable and slow to corner, but we found the Pioneer to be super fun to ride and really stable.
It has 20" wheels with disc brakes all around and a folding frame to make it easy to store and transport. The Magene eBike system runs a Sutto (Bafang) 250W motor, powering through a differential to the rear wheels. It has an electronic shifter pulling a Shimano Tourney 7-speed drivetrain. This is powerful enough to ride up some pretty impressive gradients in our test.
The Electric Bicycle Company or TEBCO, was one of the very first eBike businesses in Australia. TEBCO design their bikes for the Australian market, with suppliers in China manufacturing frames and assembling to spec. Their Melbourne HQ has a full showroom, workshop and spares, and they provide full technical support to dealers around Australia
